visions of the future

Promises for the future were made; some sadly broken and some unfortunately honored. While we didn't get household jetpacks and personal serving-drinks-by-the-pool robots, or even our orgasmatrons, we did get things like the super-fantastic building materials of the future-asbestos, lead, and foam.

  1. Well, you're pushing against an open door with me there, even given my profession. I remember once in the JSF design office declaring how dissapointed I was that all these promises from the 1960's had come to nought. "Where's my personal bloody hover-car, jet-pack, hypersonic train......" It's even difficult to get hold of a decent shiny one-piece suit with diagonal zipper these days (although I have my sources).
